Anyway,
as the days flew past we began to concentrate our
efforts on this special pool and especially at the
critical period during the rip tides.
Gradually it started producing sea trout up to
2LB’s weight for one or two of us ,but it was
the early rises who on the last morning went down
at 6am and returned before breakfast with three
magnificent sea trout up to 3 LB’s in weight. It
was the father and son team from Kenya, Peter and
Harry Barnish as well as nearly everyone but
myself who in the end really mastered the early
morning rising and produced the goods.
It
was certainly a unique experience for our club to
fish in this very memorable location which was
made extra special by the culinary delights
prepared by Eric and the endless advice and tales
from Derek, the son of a Minister. The environment
was second to none and well organized and priced.
It is most certainly the best value fishing
holiday I have ever had, where everything went so
well and so well organized.
It
is perhaps worth saying that Uig Lodge also
contains its own smokehouse, where the finest of
smoked salmon can be taken home ready packed if
the gods haven’t managed to put one on the end
of your line.
